The Orfeó Català de Mèxic founded in 1906 celebrates 110 years of presence in Mexico, so it seemed very good pretext to know it and of course delight the palate.
Inside this hidden place in the Col. Juarez is the restaurant Cassola the ideal place to taste the perfect union of both cultures.
It has a very pleasant terrace to spend a quiet afternoon, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy authentic Catalan food at a super price.
The menu seemed very varied, so you can find from the authentic Paella to the famous Fidegua .
We started with the “Consomé de cola de res” which I must confess is not very pretty visually, but it is a saucer full of flavor that conveys all the homemade love.
We tried the “Canelones au gratin” and the “bbq” with a tomato salad, all of course accompanied by a good glass of red wine from the house.
Accompany your dishes with the bread, which is made in the house, as well as the aioli.
We close our visit with the classic “Crema Catalana” and try for the first time the “Tart Santiago” with homemade nougat ice cream ! SPECTACULAR !!
The service is very attentive and fast. I recommend sitting on the terrace to enjoy the afternoon and of course do not miss the interior room full of photographs that reflect the fraternal welcome.
They have a great promotion on weekends; Free bottle of house wine for each paella order for 4 people!
